Candidates for a baccalaureate degree must fulfill the requirements for a major as listed in the courses of study bulletin. The courses of study bulletin is the official source of information regarding degree requirements, academic policies, and academic majors and minors at Trinity University.

Pathways Curriculum

Students must complete the Pathways Curriculum in order to receive a baccalaureate degree. The Pathways Curriculum has six curricular requirements, and three optional elements that provide the foundation in the liberal arts and sciences for all the bachelor's degrees awarded by Trinity University. Through these requirements, students acquire the necessary skills and disciplinary perspectives to navigate complex questions at Trinity and in their post-graduate lives.

Art and architecture across time, from caves to cathedrals, and from the Renaissance through the twentieth century
Art and Archaeology of Ancient Egypt
Monuments and sites of Ancient Egypt
Art and Architecture in Medieval Europe
Art made across the continent, from the British Isles to the Byzantine world, and from the fourth century to the Gothic age
Age of Leonardo: Art and Architecture in Italy 1475-1568
Art created in the great cities of Florence, Rome, Milan, and Venice, with a focus on the contributions of major figures including Leonardo, Bramante, Michelangelo, and Raphael
Modernism in the Visual Arts
Artistic practices and critical accounts of “Modernism,” since the mid-nineteenth century, with an emphasis on visual analysis of major works and close readings of primary and secondary texts
Mexico City
The architectural and urban history of Mexico City from its founding by the Aztecs through the twentieth century

Art history faculty are among the foremost specialists in their fields internationally and have particular expertise in the art of Mesopotamia, late Medieval and Renaissance art, nineteenth- and twentieth-century painting and photography, Latin American art, and architectural history.
